AtLaNtA... Round Two

So... I'm going to fill you in about my second trip to Atlanta... yes if you are doing the math that is TWO times in one month! The funny thing is I was so ExCiTeD to be there on this second trip that you would think I hadn't just been there two weeks before. It's easy for me to get overwhelmed when I go home because there are so many things I want to do (and sleep is NEVER one of them), so many places I want to go (like a mall that actually has at least two floors), and of course so many people I want to see (family and old friends). This trip was no exception.... I feel like we got to pack so much into this one tiny little weekend.

The first thing I have to share was our trip to Swoozies (it's this really cute little gift store that has almost everything you can think of and no we don't have one here in Mobile). Tansey and I went to Swoozies to look around at ideas and things for her best friend's baby shower... we had so much fun looking for things for LiTtLe BaBy JuLiAn! I don't know if it is just me, but baby onesies have gotten really funny!
I mean you have to laugh reading these.... we did.... and we ran around like crazy people taking
pictures of all of our favorite ones.... it's cracking me up now as I am uploading them!

Then Tansey and I headed over to Roswell to have some fun! I don't know if you are going to be able to tell, but Brenton ordered a Guinness.... and if you look real close.... there is a shamrock in the top of his beer!
Then.... we went to Chaplin's.... this little bar in Roswell that always is a HUGE
experience, and this time was no exception! In the words of Drew Adams "Chaplin's ALWAYS delivers!"

So... here is Tansey and I enjoying the sights (very interesting people), sounds (its a karokee bar), and tastes (some really LARGE vodka Tonics).
Thank you Chaplin's for a WoNdErFuL night with old friends. Sadly leaving Atlanta this time was not easy as usual, but we had a really great time. I just absolutely LOVE being home.... how come I didn't get that when I lived there haha? I guess that is the way it always goes. Good news is Turkey Day is right around the corner!

Monday, I didn't miss you...

It's Monday... this usually is not the best day for me. However, to make matters worse I literally saw the clock almost every single hour and sometimes random minutes in between like 4:37 a.m.! This in case you were wondering is NOT thrilling... especially when you are faced with the reality of work looming in the morning. My whole night was a frustrating countdown to my alarm clock... just watching my precious hours of sleep melt away!

So, needless to say I will be hitting the pillow HARD tonight, or at least I hope so... this is a busy week! I can't really afford to be tired.

FoRtUnAtElY... I just found out that I will be getting a VIP pass to this weekend's Bayfest (thank you Tansey and Joann)! It goes without saying that I am DESPERATE for the weekend to get here! (Oh and I plan on blogging later this this week about Atlanta Round two)

Georgia On My Mind...

It seems as though lately I have not been able to get Georgia off my mind. Not only have I not been able to get it off my mind, but for the second time this month I am going HOME!

It's funny because when I was leaving home in 2004 to start school down here in Mobile, AL I was SO ready to go.... and I pretty much maintained the attitude of loving my space all through college (not that I didn't love the occastional visit home). Well I graduated and entered 'BIG GIRL' world and oh how things have changed! Like I have told you before I love my little life here, but it's just not home. I'm just sitting here so ExCiTeD because in a few short hours I will be on my way to ATL!

I guess in all of this it is just showing me even more how I am growing up... my family means more to me than ever. My time with them is invaluable, and I just want as much of it as I can.

Just an ole sweet song... keeps Georgia on my mind!

Home SWEET Home...

The phrase 'home sweet home' could not be more true. I FINALLY got to go home this past weekend, and this was a wonderful thing considering I have been so home sick lately! After work on Friday (once I got the go ahead from Honda that I was not going to get stuck in the middle of nowhere.... and I really mean the middle of NOWHERE) I threw things in a bag, and headed home. After a not so short 6 and half hour drive (thank you very BAD rain) I was home, and the lights were on and waiting for me, and even though it was like almost midnight my pup (Blaze) came running out to greet me. Right off the bat I got to check something off my list of things that I have been waiting to do... PET MY DOG! I hung out with my sleepy Daddy for a bit and then went to sleep in my old room, in my old bed (which is still strange).

Saturday the adventures in Atlanta began...
First was the Georgia Tech game (my little sister has officially been a yellow jacket for over a year now so for at least this day I wore the Tech colors) they WON!
This Libby and me at the game... up VERY, VERY, VERY high... we had a great time!
Being a loud and screaming college football fan can really make you hungry... so we made a stop at Manuel's (this really old, very cool, and yummy tavern *notice the est. 1956). My mom actually used to eat here when she was around my age (fun fact for ya).
After Manuel's I had to see my Libby's new place.... most people upgrade their living arrangements from their freshman year, but my sister takes the cake! She went from a very teeny tiny dorm room to an AwEsOmE apartment on North Avenue... the picture above oh that's just the view out her window!
I also got to see Libby's sorority house... here's Libby and Fidel (she's a Phi Mu)!
Here is the best Italian Ice I have ever had (we saw everyone walking aound Atlantic Station with it)... this combo was watermelon and coconut... it was absolutely...
THE. BEST. EVER.
Here was the view from our little bench... people just walking around on a Saturday evening enjoying the market in Atlantic Station.
It looks fun doesn't it.... does it not make you just want to walk around to all of the vendors while enjoying some Italian Ice?!?!?!!?!

I had so much fun enjoying family, friends, and the city... so much fun in fact I had a hard time convincing my car to get on 85 SOUTH! I am very happy in Mobile... I have a great job and amazing friends here... but I will always be a Georgia girl.
